There are 2 techniques for this test: the gel-clot technique and the photometric techniques. The latter include a turbidimetric method and a chromogenic method. Proceed by any one of these techniques. In case of dispute, the final decision is based on the gel-clot technique, unless otherwise indicated in the monograph. Quantities of endotoxin are expressed in Endotoxin Units (EU).
